Maps out nearby gas stations and uses user uploaded prices to tell you where you can get the most bang for your buck. It’s the most comprehensive gas price resource around, making sure to tell you when prices were updated, which is crucial given how volatile gas prices can be.

If you don’t mind waiting through an advertisement before you see the results, you can find the nearest gas station or best fuel prices within a specified radius (default is 5 miles). You can filter  for fuel types – standard grades, and harder-to-find fuels like E85 and diesel.

AAA TripTik
Cost: FREE
Compatability: iPhone, Android available mid-May
TripTik lets users search for local gas prices and sort results by distance. You can also set your preferences to scan prices for a particular grade of gas. AAA says it refreshes prices seven times a day, but not every listing is updated each time. You don’t need be an AAA member to use TripTik. But the company also has an AAA Discounts app that lets users see nearby locations that offer member discounts.
