Local Gig Harbor resident Kelly Watson loves Kensington Palace – so much, she had its likeness built here in Washington. It was completed in Gig Harbor in 2008, on 23 acres of property. Watson personally designed the manor she calls “Kensington Gardens”. It is complete with fragrant sculptured gardens, graceful fountains, and winding pathways. “When my husband was working in London, I used to take our kids to Kensington to play on the lovely grounds,” says Watson. “The gardens and the beautiful European architecture were something I wanted to bring home.” And she did. The manor bears a striking resemblance to one of the royal family’s many palaces.

Named after Kensington Palace, the former home of Princess Diana, Kensington Gardens in Gig Harbor has a ballroom with seating for 140 guests, an outdoor Garden Chapel, and all the staff and catering available to make your wedding day complete. Inside the manor, french doors open into large airy rooms filled with antique furnishings and fresh flowers.

The Will and Kate Style Royal Package includes a horse-drawn carriage ride, music from the Royal Wedding service (which will be distributed digitally for the first time ever), and a tiered, fruit filled wedding cake (just like Wills and Kate’s) decorated with a floral theme using the same “language of flowers” that William and Kate have chosen.

Kensington Gardens is located at 3804 Olson Drive NW in Gig Harbor. You are welcome to call ahead for a tour: 253.858.7511, or go to the website at http://www.KensingtonGardens.com.
