Water Fun Begins Around the Sound Memorial Day Weekend

From water parks and water slides to wading pools, there’s water fun around the Sound, starting this weekend.

Enjoy Seattle’s favorite Olympic size saltwater pool this holiday weekend! Located on a scenic point overlooking the beach in Lincoln Park, Coleman Pool is just a short walk (through the park) from the two parking lots. Kiddos of all ages will love this huge pool which contains 450,000 gallons of saltwater pulled straight from Puget Sound and maintained at a comfy 82 degrees. The pool has high and low diving boards and an ADA lift. Users must pass the swim test and pay a $1 fee to use the Giant Tube Slide. Lap Swim: Noon – 2:45pm; Public Swim: 3:00pm – 4:45pm; Lap Swim: 5:00 pm – 7 pm; Cost: Adults (18-64) $4.75 / Seniors (65+) $3.25 / Youth (1-17) $3.25.

All rides and attractions open this Saturday for the entire Memorial Day weekend. Under new management in 2011, Wild Waves is 70-acres of family fun with more than 60 attractions. This includes 20 waterslides – a new family raft ride coming in 2011, the 50-foot Zooma Falls family raft ride, the Kong Lazy River, a 24,000-square-foot wave pool and more. The park is also home to Washington’s biggest roller coaster TimberHawk and steel roller coaster The Wild Thing. Cost: Season Pass $69.00.

Open all Memorial Day Weekend, including Monday, May 30. Come on Thursdays between 6:35pm – 8pm for Free Slide Public Swim. On Fridays from 5:30pm – 7:30pm throughout the summer, it’s a fun time for the whole family. Come
to the pool for a special evening of games, activities and prizes. Mounger has two pools to provide for needs of children of every age, an extra-warm wading pool and an Olympic-sized deeper pool. The pool also has a 50-ft corkscrew slide.
