Join the fun as thousands of people run and walk, with their friends, families, kids and of course their dogs, in order to raise money for injured and abused orphaned animals.

All the proceeds from the Furry 5K directly support the Help the Animals Fund. Veterinary care needs continue to expand, and last year the Help the Animals Fund paid for over $104,000 worth of veterinary bills.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in approximately 7,000 stray and owner-surrendered animals each year. Many of these animals arrive sick and injured from living on the streets; others are seized from abusive or neglectful owners. To provide veterinary care for these sick, injured and abused animals, the Seattle Animal Shelter created the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF) in 1977.  This year will be the 12th annual Furry 5K to benefit the HTAF.

You can pre-register for the run at http://www.furry5k.com. Or register on race day, Sunday, June 12, at Seward Park between 8:15am -9:45am. Timed runners must be registered by 9:30am. Early Registration: $25.00 per person; Day-of-Race Registration: $30.00 per person.

Avoid the registration table crowds on race day by pre-registering and picking up your team race packets on Saturday, June 11th. You can stop by the upper level of the Seattle Animal Shelter between 10am and 2pm with the e-mail confirmation you received when you registered yourself or your team.
