Best of Fourth of July – Seattle Style
All around the Sound, there’s plenty to do on the Fourth of July! From sack races and pie eating contests, to fun runs and of course, fireworks, there’s something for everyone!
Family 4th at Lake Union
Gas Works Park
2101 North Northlake Way
Seattle, WA 98103
This year’s Family 4th kicks off at 12:00pm on Monday, July 4 with family activities, entertainment, and food vendors throughout Gas Works Park. The evening’s awe-inspiring fireworks display begins at approximately 10:00pm.
Parking at the Family 4th is very limited. The Seattle Police Department will implement a street closure plan, providing for only residential access to the neighborhood surrounding Gas Works Park. All event attendees are encouraged to utilize alternate means of transportation whenever possible. Walking or riding bikes on the Burke Gilman Trail is an easy way to attend the event and minimize post-fireworks traffic congestion. Cyclists may enter through an express access bike entrance on the northwest side of the park to take advantage of the free bike parking area inside. Buses will be running on a reduced holiday schedule, limiting the number of buses operating, scheduled stops, and amount of guests they can accommodate after the fireworks. All guests arriving to the park by bus are encouraged to prepare an alternate method of return transportation.
Feeling adventurous? Come climb the 24ft rock wall or spin, twirl and jump in mid-air on the bungee trampoline platform. Or get carried away and make your very own kite! It’s free and fun for everyone on the Family 4th Playfield. And you can let the kids decorate and celebrate with fun and colorful face painting! Artists will be at Gas Works Park on the 4th to help the little ones show off their patriotic side with FREE airbrush designs.
There’s also a chance for you to show your community spirit by helping those in need. You can donate to Northwest Harvest at this year’s Family 4th and receive a Starbucks/iTunes 10-Song Summer Music Mix Card as a thank you. Volunteers will be located at both entrances to collect your non-perishable food items.
