Best of Kent Cornucopia Days

The nationally recognized and award-winning summer family festival is in Kent, just south of Seattle. The street fair alone is huge – over 600 vendors from around the coutry! Other main events include the farmers market, fine crafts market, Dragon Boat Races, a soccer tournament, 5K fun run, King County Jaguars semi-pro football game, skateboard and inline skate tournaments, Miss Cornucopia Scholarship Pageant, carnival and midway, grand parade (2pm, July 10), children’s play area, and fine art show and exhibit. Here’s what’s happening:

THURSDAY, JULY 7

Funtastic Carnival
Corner of W. Smith and Lincoln Ave. in Kent
(former Metro Park & Ride lot)
3:00pm

Experience the thrills of this full size carnival that has rides for all ages, from the latest and fastest rides available today to smaller rides just for the small kids. There is a full Midway and a space dedicated to children’s rides. You can find for opening day discount coupons at participating stores.

Kent Youth Soccer Associations 11th Annual “Cornucopia Cup” Tournament
All day
Pea Patch Soccer Fields
Green River Road & S 265th St.

Watch nearly 150 youth teams from throughout the Puget Sound area compete at this event.

FRIDAY, JULY 8

Kent Lions “Street Fair” & “Taste of Cornucopia”
10:00am – 8:00pm

An unbelievably large variety of arts & crafts and food vendors, including commercial and other displays with over 600 booths to choose from. Over 35 food booths throughout the streets. The Main Food Court is located at the Kent Library; the East Food Court – a new area surrounding the Gazebo in Burlington Green Park; and the Beer Garden – located next to the Gazebo Park Food Court.

Fine Crafts Market
Kent Station
10:00am – 8:00pm

The Fine Crafts Market is for crafts people and artists specializing in handcrafted items only. The objective is to create a colorful, balanced and varied selection of high quality handmade crafts and artwork at the festival.

Adopt a pet from the KCACC (King County Animal Care and Control shelter in Kent) right at the festival.

Military Displays
On Gowe St between Railroad and 1st Ave.

Kids and adults will enjoy the equipment & vehicles from the Army National Guard and other military units.

Kent Police & Fire Dept Safety Fair
Railroad Ave between Gowe and Meeker
10:00am to 8:00pm

Stop by for tips to keep your family safe, and let your kids climb aboard a fire truck.

“Kent Valley Artists Association Art Show”
Rosebed Park, on 1st and Meeker
10:00am to 8:00pm.

An art show and sale showcasing local artists.

Beer Garden: By the Ram Restaurant
Burlington Green Park, next to the food court and stage.
12:00pm to 8:00pm

This event will benefit several local non-profit groups.

Gazebo Stage: live entertainment

A varity of artists perform music at its best.

Square Dance
Town Square Plaza on the corner of 2nd and Smith

Join in or just watch and enjoy the annual square dance at the Plaza. Seating area provided.

SATURDAY, JULY 9

Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun Run and Walk
Three Friends Fishing Hole

The Kent Parks Department is pleased to present the Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun Run. The focus will be on encouraging families to participate together to get outside and exercise. Day of race registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The race features a fast down and back along the Green River Trail.

Kent Cornucopia Days 11th Annual “Dragon Boat Races”
Lake Meridian, Kent
8:30am until 5:00pm

Nearly 50 Washington, Oregon, Canadian, California, and local teams will race in eight giant 45-foot boots with a crew of 24 people. Races begin at . The park will have activities for the family including food booths, along with souvenir and team booths. Shuttle from Kent Fire Station #75, Horizon Elementary School, and the 132PndP Park & Ride lot.

15th Annual Skateboard Tournament.

SUNDAY, JULY 10

Kent Cornucopia Days “Kids Bike Ride”
Titus Street, Kent
10:30am – 11:30am

The newest event at Kent Cornucopia Days, Kent Cornucopia Days Kids Bike Ride. This is a short ride prior to the Grand Parade on 4th Ave. Sponsored by the Emerald City Lights Bike Ride Organization.

Grand Parade:
4th Ave., starting at Saar St., turning West on Smith St and ending at 6th Ave.
2:00pm

Join with thousands of spectators who line the streets for Kent largest and most prominent parade. Enjoy floats, marching bands, drill teams, and the SEAFAIR Pirates. Bring the family early for this outstanding event. The reviewing stand is in front of the Kent Police Dept. This year’s theme is “It’s Kentastic” and will be broadcast live over the City of Kent’s Channel 21.\
