Registration is now open for The 5th Annual Covey Run, a family-friendly 10K Race, 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Dash event which takes place Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 8:00am in Woodinville and benefits Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Held in conjunction with the Auction of Washington Wines and presented by Covey Run Winery, the race has raised more than $300,000 for uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital, ensuring that every child has access to healthcare, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Covey Run winemaker Kate Michaud, a fitness enthusiast and committed philanthropist, has run the 10K nearly every year.
Winners of The Covey Run, who are at least 21 years old, will receive a 3-litre bottle of Covey Run wine and a donation will be presented to Seattle Children’s Hospital at The Wine Gala, which will be held on the evening of August 20th. All participants who raise more than $100 will be eligible for a drawing for prizes donated by local shops and restaurants.
The race begins and ends at the Redhook Ale Brewery, 14300 NE 145th Street, Woodinville. The entry fee is $30 (through August 1), $35 (August 2-17), $40 Day of Registration & 12 and under FREE (timing chip & t-shirt not included).
Registration is available from now until Wednesday, August 17. Information and online registration: www.runforchildrens.org.
