Best of Lakefair Celebration July 13 – 17

The Lakefair Festival’s 2011 theme is Candyland! Held in downtown Olympia on the banks of Capitol Lake, the 5-day celebration has carnival rides, food vendors on Water Street, and Arts and Crafts vendors located at Heritage Park around the lake. Rides open at 12:00pm on Wednesday, July 13th, marking the start of Lakefair! It will run each day, until the big finale when the Grand Finale Fireworks go off at 10:00pm on Sunday July 17th.

2011 Capital Lakefair Run

This is the 36th year of the 8K and 3K Lakefair Run on Saturday, July 16 at 8:00am!
The start and finish will be at Heritage Park in Olmpia again this year, with a stage for awards, and a family-friendly finish near the interactive fountain.

On Friday, July 15th, there is registration at South Sound Running, and in-person registration on race day. The last day for online registration is Thursday, July 14. Go to http://www.ontherunevents.com/lakefair/ to register online.

This year’s race offers a flat fast course, great awards up to 80+ and munchies at the end provided by Harbor Wholesale.

6:15 a.m. – Day of race registration and packet pick-up, stage in Heritage Park
7:30 a.m. – Registration closes
8:00 a.m. – Start of 8K race
8:05 a.m. – Start of 3k run/walk
10:00 a.m. – Awards Ceremony, stage in Heritage Park

5:00pm
Grand Parade
The parade starts at Capitol Way at 20th Ave and ends on 5th Ave at Simmons Street.

12:00pm – 4:00pm
Lakefair Kids’ Day
Sylvester Park
Face painting, arts and crafts, bounce houses, and more. FREE for kids and their families.
