It’s Pike Place Market’s 3rd Annual Fruit Festival. Come downtown for cooking demonstrations, kids activities, a pie eating contest and more at the Market!  And it’s all FREE.  Here’s the full line-up of all the activities for the Fruit Festival. All activity tents will be on Pike Place between Pine and Virginia on Sunday, July 24.

10 a.m. – 4p.m.: Kids Art and Chalky the Pig
Color fruit sheets and draw on Chalky the Pig, a blackboard piggy.

11 a.m.: Free Farm Table Tour
Meet the farmers who grow the summer bounty.

Noon and 3 p.m.: Pie-eating Contest presented by Chukar Cherries
Just like at the county fair!

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Zucchini 500 Race
Make a race car out of zucchini and race them down a track. All supplies provided. Races at the top and half of each hour.

12:30 p.m.: Sustainability Talk
Learn about sustainable agriculture, what it is and what it means for us in the future.

1 p.m.: “Master of the Market” Chef Cooking Competition
Three chefs from Pike Place Market restaurants vie for the title (and medal) by race-shopping and whipping up a culinary creation with a secret ingredient. A team of judges will declare this year’s winner.
