Disney is opening two of its interactive concept Disney Stores in Puget Sound this year. And by the end of 2011, Disney will have 60 of the new stores in 16 major markets in North America and eight countries.
The new Disney Store offers a one-of-a-kind, interactive and magical experience for Disney fans of all ages. Disney Store’s new design concept aims to deliver “the best 30 minutes of a child’s day” through immersive experiences including a Disney Princess with Magic Mirror, magic mirrors where children activate princess movie clips, Translucent Trees, Disney Pixar CARS-branded Ridemakerz experience “Build Your Ride”. Ridemakers is to Radio-Control vehicles what Build-A-Bear is to…um…bears. And the Disney Store Theatre will be in-house, featuring the latest Disney entertainment.
The first Disney store in Washington opened in May, 2011 at Bellevue Square. The second Washington store, at Westfield Southcenter in Tukwila, is scheduled to open in late summer or early fall.
With each new store opening in 2011, Disney Store will donate 10 percent of the first day’s sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the United States.
