There are a lot of activities going on this weekend in Seattle. From Viaduct construction, to Mariner games to Seafair activities, you can expect heavy congestion getting in and out of downtown.
On Saturday, July 30, according to the Washington State DOT, http://www.wsdot.wa.gov, the Southbound SR 99/Alaskan Way Viaduct will be closed from the Battery Street Tunnel to the West Seattle Bridge over night on Saturday, July 30 thru 5:00am Monday, August 1, while the WSDOT installs a new stormwater drainage system at the south end of the viaduct.
The Seattle Mariners have three home games this weekend: Friday, July 29, Saturday, July 30, and Sunday, July 31.
The Michelob ULTRA Seafair Torchlight Run will take place on Sunday, July 31 at 6:30pm. The runners will depart from Seattle Center. The Northbound SR-99/Alaskan Way Viaduct will be closed from the West Seattle Bridge to the Western Avenue off-ramp from 5:30pm to approximately 8:30pm for the run and the parade.
The Torchlight Parade at Seafair will begin just after the run at 7:30pm. There is parade staging on the streets surrounding the Seattle Center. The parade will start at Fourth Avenue N and Broad Street; heads south on Fourth to S Washington Street; west on Washington to Second Avenue S; south on Second to S King Street; disperses in the north lot of Qwest Field.
