As part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the World’s Fair (1962 – 2012), the Seattle Center and Seattle Marathon Association have planned a brand new 10K (6.2 mile) run for Saturday, August 27.

The chip-timed inaugural race will start at Seattle Center, head past Pike Place Market and the Seattle Waterfront. The race ends at the International Fountain back at Seattle Center, the perfect place to catch a cool breeze. Each runner will get a t-shirt from Saucony and a goodie bag, according to www.seattlemarathon.org.

The course will be wheelchair, stroller and dog friendly.

There will be prizes for the top three overall male and female runners, the top three age division runners (male & female), and top masters runners (40+ male & female). Go to the website at http://www.seattlemarathon.org for registration and more information.
