On Friday, August 12, head to South Lake Union for some fantastic food, fun for the kids, and a movie night for the whole family. And you’l be helping the local community by supporting Fare Start, a culinary job-training program, and Youth Care, helping the homeless with housing and services to help them rebuild a better life.

From 12:00pm until 11:00pm,  SLU will be buzzing with activity!  The kids area will have crafts, face painting, bounce house, balloon animals, and a special appearance at 5:00pm by the Seahawks’ Blitz (bring your camera for a photo op)!

For foodies, there are samples to be had from some of the best restaurants in SLU, including Bucca di Beppo, Lunchbox Laboratory and Tom Douglas’ newest Cuoco.  Tickets can be purchased at the information booth at one ticket for $1 or six tickets for $5 with all proceeds benefiting YouthCare and Farestart. Other restaurants will be offering full-sized entreés, so when you’re done sampling small plates, you can hit the main course.  Dessert? Oh, yeah. Molly Moon’s and Street Treats will be there, among others.

For those over 21, there is a beer and wine garden with plenty of Pyramid beer and independent wines to sample. You can purchase a flight of  eight one-ounce pours for $15, with 100% of proceeds benefiting Farestart and Youthcare.

At 5:00pm, there’s a burger grill off to see who emerges with the best burger in South Lake Union!

And to top it all off, at dusk you can sit on your blanket or lawn chair and take in Scott Pilgrim vs The World (PG-13) on a giant screen at Cinema on the Lawn. There will be fun and prizes just before the movie starts, so you’ll want to stick around until the sun goes down over Lake Union.
