For kids, every Saturday through August there is a craft activity in the kids’ area of the store. Make a plate, a friendship bracelet or take a math class to brush up on your skills. A family-run business since 1954, Lakeshore Learning has teacher resources, organizational products, charts for pre-school through sixth grade, puzzles and games, learning toys, and self-laminating to make all those bulletin board items last. Teachers can get a special card to receive discounts on materials and laminating. Parents will enjoy the Saturday art activities at the store in Bellevue and the free, downloadable writing activities kids from preschool through sixth grade can do at home over the summer. With year-long activities like story times and meet-the-author events, there’s also a Summer Rocks reading program. If you need help finding your child an age-appropriate book, there’s staff to help. And for every book your child (Pre-k through 8th grade) finishes until the end of August, your child can receive coupons for purchases from Kids Books AND cool free stuff.
