Metropolitan Markets Celebrate 15th Year of Peach O Rama

Since 1996, Metropolitan Market (formerly Thriftway) stores have been tempting their customers with some outlandishly delicious peaches. And they’re back!

Most all of Met Markets’ peaches come from Bert and Sharon Pence of Pence Orchards in Wapato, Washington and organic growers Frog Hollow Farm in Brentwood, California, according to the market’s website.

The Peach O Rama season begins Wednesday, August 10 with eight different varieties of peaches. You may find something being blended up or cooked up during your shopping trip at the Metropolitan Market’s Culinary Kiosk.

Be sure to pick up in-store recipes for dishes like Golden Peach Splash, Fruity Bruschetta, Pence Peach Kuchen, Grilled Peaches with Aged Balsamic, Sautéed Peach-O-Rama Chicken, Halibut with Peach Salsa, Peach Milkshakes and Peach Daiquiris.

There are six area Metropolitan Market locations, from Kirkland to Tacoma. Check out their website at:
