Habitat for Humanity is opening up a second-hand retail store focused on home goods and materials. They are planning to sell the new or gently used items to the general public for a fraction of retail price. And all the profits will go toward Habitat for Humanity’s homebuilding program, which will provide simple, decent, affordable homes on the Eastside.
Come out for the grand opening of the store on Saturday, August 20. Family activities (and cake!) will happen between 10:00am and noon, according to the Habitat for Humanity’s website. The address of the new store is 13500 Bel Red Rd. Bellevue, WA 98005.
Not only will the store be a great place to find furniture, building materials, tools and home decor, but it’s a place that would love to take those things off your hands, if you have some to donate. All donations that are accepted will receive a Charitable Donations Receipt, according to the company website.
It’s easy. First call the Donation Hotline at 425.869.6007 and say you’d like to donate to the Habitat Store.
Here are some of the items the store would like to have:
-Couches, chairs, bed frames
-Desks, dressers, bookcases
-Tables (kitchen, living room, bedsides, etc.)
-Antique and novelty items
-Mattresses (new only)
The furniture must be structurally sound and relatively new-looking. Upholstered furniture cannot have any stains, tears, or pet damage.
