Believe it or not, Redmond’s DigiPen Institute of Technology was named in 2011 by the Princeton Review as one of the top 10 undergraduate schools for video game design study. DigiPen came in third, behind USC and the University of Utah.
DigiPen is a 4 year university in Redmond, right near the campuses of Nintendo of America and Microsoft. And not only do they offer college students BA, BFA and BS degrees, they have AP classes for high school students, and summer programs for kids beginning at age 10.
On Saturday, August 27, the DigiPen Institute of Technology is hosting “DigiPen Day” for the entire family. Come see the campus, and participate in interactive games. See video games created by DigiPen students, meet the instructors, watch racing robotics cars, and enjoy free food and prizes.
If your kid is a gamer, they might be interested in finding out about a potential career in the field. Plus, it’s a chance to get the kids off the couch and away from the controller for a few hours. If you are interested, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
