Target, JC Penney Plan to Open Smaller Urban Stores Downtown

The new CityTarget has plans to open in 2012. Seattle is one of ten cities chosen by Target for their smaller, urban stores. The planned site is at 2nd and Pike, according to the Seattle Times, and will include a smaller version of Target’s P-fresh grocery store.

The new CityTargets will be in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, Boston, Miami, and Baltimore, as well as Seattle, according to Freshneasybuzz.com.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Times reports that real estate sources have confirmed plans for a JC Penney to open at Third Avenue and Pike Street in downtown Seattle.
