The state’s first “primier” liquor store is now open, according to the Washington State Liquor Control Board’s website. The address is 4100 S.W. Alaska Street in West Seattle. It’s the first of two larger, high-volume liquor stores that the WSLCB is opening.

What gives these stores the ‘primier’ status? For one, the floor space. These stores will be nearly half-again the size of a regular liquor store in Washington.

The stores will nearly 2,000 spirits products, which is double the amount of an average state store.

The store has modern merchandising including unique signage, fixtures, and lighting – more on par with supermarkets.

The premier store is one of 30 liquor stores to participate in the statewide spirits tasting pilot program. The store has a new spirit tasting bar.

Digital signage throughout the store provides product information, public safety information and other messages.

New product sections will highlight Washington’s own spirits, beer, and wine.
