Just last night at a dinner party, the conversation turned to Food Trucks. “I don’t know if I’d eat food from a truck,” I overheard one say at the table. “Are you kidding me?” said another. “I can’t wait till the mobile food truck comes by my office. The food is soooo good!” “Oh! I didn’t know,” the first responded.

If YOU haven’t tried the latest fascination of gourmet food “on the go”, you’ll want to head to West Seattle on Sunday, October 2 for Mobile Chowdown VI. For the first time, an entire street will be closed off for 23 food trucks in a mobile food extravaganza.

Seattle Magazine, a Mobile Chowdown VI sponsor, says there will be 23 mobile food trucks at the event. Here’s what Seattle Mag has listed as participating food trucks on their website:

A Lunch in Hand
Andrae’s Kitchen
Big Food Mobile
Charlie’s Buns n Stuff
El Camion
Fusion on the Run
I Want Curry Now
Lumpia World
Marination Mobile
Maximus Minimus
Molly Moon’s
Pretzel Wagen
Raney Brothers BBQ
Snout and Co.
Street Donuts
Street Treats
The Bistro Box
Veraci Pizza
Where ya at Matt

Between 11:00am and 6:00pm, you’ll find the trucks on California Avenue SW between SW Oregon Street and SW Edmunds Street. There will be a live DJ playing and a Kids Area. Entrance to the food truck area is FREE.

I’d heard that the resurgence in the pioularpty of food trucks is partially linked with the use of twitter as a means of advertising their menus and scheduled routes. Some people follow their favorite street vendors, quite literally.Hopefully next time you’re in Atlanta, they’ll let you break away long enough to join me for lunch!
