News has traveled fast. This morning, before the Factoria Target opened, Manager Corey Gill said there was a line outside. The Bellevue Target, like all Targets nationwide, is carrying products from Missoni, the legendary Italian fashion house who has partnered with Target to introduce a limited-edition collection of apparel and accessories for women, men, girls and baby, as well as home goods including bedding, dinnerware, stationery and décor.
Gill said that in his Target store, “The women’s Missoni products were gone within five minutes. The baby and children’s items took a little longer. And now we are essentially out of what we had.” Target’s website, too, is overrun with hits, and according to the Wall Street Journal, crashed this morning, the first day of the Missoni launch.
Prices range from $2.99 to $599.99, with most items less than $40. The Wall Street Journal quotes $29.99 for silk floral dresses and $12.99 for Missoni bath towels.
The collection will only be available from Sept. 13 through Oct. 22 at all Target stores and Target.com. Gill says that all Target stores are expecting more shipments, but what items they will receive and when they will receive them is uncertain.
