Seattle Knows Food: Ranks in Top 10 “Cities for Foodies”

In the September 2011 issue of Travel + Leisure magazine, Seattle is ranked 7th out of 10 in the article “America’s Top Cities for Foodies”.
What does the magazine think is great about the Seattle food scene? The Pike Place Market, of course. Also tops is the new SLU development, where Seattle’s Tom Douglas has opened several new restaurants, including Brave Horse Tavern, Cuoco, and Ting MoMo, all on Terry Avenue.
Travel + Leisure also notes the first Starbucks, and classifies Seattle coffee as “it’s own food group”. We’d gladly agree.
Who’s in the top 5? Number one, not too surprisingly, is New Orleans. New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco also help round out the top 5. The surprise might be Providence, Rhode Island, which was ranked at number 3.
