The Seattle Opera is bringing Carmen to McCaw Hall October 15 – 29. This sexy opera by Bizet is set in Spain. Carmen, the main character, is a beautiful gypsy who does everything in her life with passion. She falls in love with a soldier, the young Don José. Their relationship leads to disastrous consequences, including Don José’s mutiny against his superior, and joining a gang of smugglers. When Carmen leaves him and falls for the bullfighter Escamillo, murder ensues.
