Cinderella, the beloved fairy tale and musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein, is coming to The 5th Avenue Theatre in November. The musical made its television debut in 1957 with Julie Andrews, was later made into a movie starring Lesley Ann Warren, and was most recently re-made into a Disney version starring Brandy, Whitney Houston and Bernadette Peters in 1997.
You are invited to a unique, free theatre experience at the 5th Avenue! Go behind the scenes of Cinderella on Thursday, November 3. In what the theatre calls Spotlight Night – you’ll learn about the composers, meet the creative team behind the stage magic, and get a sneak peek at Cinderella scenes from some of Seattle’s favorite musical theatre stars.
Spotlight Nights are offered prior to a performance at The 5th Avenue, free of charge. It’s a way for future audience members to discover the history of a show, the social issues surrounding it, and get a preview of some of the music and story line of the actual production.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella will run at The 5th Avenue from November 25 – December 31. The theatre calls the family-friendly show “a romantic musical filled with spectacle and unforgettable songs”.
