The kids have had their fill, and there’s still lots of candy left over! What do you do? Here are a couple of sweet places where you can donate your extra treats.
Operation Gratitude
Operation Gratitude is a 501{c}{3} sending care packages to US military serving overseas. You can donate your leftover Halloween candy to help fill care packages for the fall. Check out the website for the California based non-profit organization HERE.
Operation Shoebox
If you don’t know what to do with all that left over Halloween Candy, send it to Operation Shoebox and they will get it over to the US troops. Every year, Operation Shoebox goes through tons of candy that they send to the troops and would be happy to have your left overs! The mailing address is:
Operation Shoebox
8360 E Highway 25
Belleview, FL 34420
Seattle’s Lawton Elementary School
This Ballard school is in its 8th year of taking Halloween candy donations to give the Ballard Food Bank. Email clparks@seattleschools.org to find out more about donating your candy for their school’s drive.
Local Dentists’ Halloween Candy Buy-Back Program
Getting on board with Operation Gratitude, many area dentists and orthodontists are offering incentive buy-back programs for Halloween candy! Cash, prizes, coupons and other items are offered to your kids in exchange for their extra goodies on Tuesday, November 1. Go to the website HERE to find a dentist or orthodontist in your area collecting for Operation Gratitude.
