The Seattle Humane Society wants us to remember those furry friends who could use some food this holiday season. From November 28 thru December 31, you are invited to participate in the annual Holiday Pet Food Drive, with Safeway stores across King County accepting donations.

The Holiday Pet Food Drive is a way the Seattle Humane Society helps low income seniors keep their pets. Last year, the Holiday Pet Food Drive raised over 16 tons of food, giving families across King County the ability to feed their pet through a difficult time. Over 1,220 pets receive food every single month, according to the Seattle Humane Society website.

Continue the spirit of holiday giving this year by donating any kind of pet food (no restrictions). The greatest need is for dry food, but all kinds and types of pet food are appreciated. Look for drop-off barrels at your local Safeway, or stop by the Seattle Humane Society, located at 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue, WA 98005. For more information on the Seattle Humane Society’s Holiday Pet Food Drive, call 425.649.7567, or check out the website at
