Tacoma to Open New Park

It’s been nine months in the making, but this weekend, according to the News Tribune, Kandle Park in West Tacoma will be opening its new and expanded 10-acres on Saturday, December 10.

The park, located near North 26th and Shirley streets, will feature a playground for children with physical disabilities, three skate dots, a “sprayground” and a pool, acccording to the News Tribune’s report.

The pool is set to open this summer, and will include a toddler pool. On Saturday, kids will be able to use the Kandle Park’s basketball court, 1,315-foot cement loop trail around newly landscaped greenery.

The 8,400-square-foot play area has swings and slides and climbing equipment.
