 Rick Perry doubled down on his religion-based attack on President Barack Obama Wednesday, saying the president was preventing students from celebrating Christmas in schools. Perry said Obama and the political left were waging a “war on religious traditions.”

 Mitt Romney’s latest television ad called “Leader” emphasizes his commitment to his faith and family. Romney’s focus on marriage comes as former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who has been married three times, is rising rapidly in national polls.

 Rod Blagojevich was sentenced to 14 years in prison Wednesday, a stiff penalty for the man convicted of trying to sell President Obama’s vacated Senate seat to raise campaign cash or land a high-paying job.
