The music of Tony Bennett is as relevant now as it was when he first was starting out over five decades ago. Still going strong at 85, and with the release of his newest CD Duets II dropping on Tuesday, December 13, he’s not slowing down any time soon. The incomparable Tony Bennett is bringing his holiday tour to the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, December 17.
Tony Bennett is a 15 Time Grammy winner, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and has two Emmy Awards to his credit. He is also a gifted visual artist whose paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the Smithsonian’s American Art Museum who has an original Benedetto (he paints under his family name) as part of their permanent collection. Tony Bennett is as renowned as a humanitarian as he is an entertainer. The United Nations honored him with their Humanitarian Award in 2007 and has donated his time and talents to charitable organizations, according to the Paramount Theatre website.
His newest CD includes duets with artists like John Legend, kd lang, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Bono, Diana Krall, Tim McGraw, and Tony solos on the hit that made him famous, “I Left My Heart in San Fransisco”.
