First performed in April, 1742, and written by German composer George Frideric Handel, this much beloved classical oratorio has become a holiday tradition for many. Here’s where you can listen (or sing along!) in Seattle.

This perennial favorite features exquisite choral writing and the exultant “Hallelujah” chorus, with the Seattle Symphony and the Seattle Symphony Chorale. Please bring non-perishable food to donate to Food Lifeline, Washington’s largest hunger relief organization. Collection bins will be available in the lobby during each performance of Messiah. Join your voice to Handel’s famous “Messiah” at Seattle Unity’s “SINGALONG MESSIAH,” with orchestra, professional soloists, and pre-concert (6pm) Holiday Feast of Treats. Proceeds benefit New Horizons Ministries, serving Seattle homeless youth. Conductor: Rev. It’s the UUC’s 42nd annual Handel’s Messiah Sing-and-Play-Along. Sing and play every movement – and everyone gets a chance to sing the solos! Messiah Sing-and-Play-Alongs have had some exciting moments – from an enormous round of applause for a particular trumpet player who tackled a solo with aplomb, to auction winners who have the privilege of conducting the enormous group for one movement!
