The familiar summertime roar of a U.S. Navy Blue Angel may be heard over the skies of Seattle on Wednesday, January 4 as Blues Jet #7 visits the Northwest for the annual winter planning meetings for Seafair 2012. While in Seattle the Blue Angels will meet with Seafair and air show officials, laying the foundation for the 2012 Boeing Air Show in August.
The Blue Angels #7 F-18 will land at Boeing Field around 1:15pm on Wednesday, and depart around 11:00am on Thursday, January 5. Seafair is scheduled for August 3 – 5, 2012. The air show is part of the summer schedule of events that culminates with Seafair Weekend featuring the Boeing Air Show and the Albert Lee Cup Hydroplane Races. Tickets for the event will go on sale in early May.
The Blue Angels’ mission is to enhance U.S. Navy and Marine Corps recruiting efforts and to represent the naval service to the United States, its elected leadership and foreign nations. The Blue Angels serve as positive role models for young people, and goodwill ambassadors for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
