Cops: Oregon Woman Ties Up Sister With Electrical Cord On New Year’s Eve

MARION COUNTY, Ore. (CBS Seattle) — An Oregon woman is behind bars after police say she tied up her sister with an electrical cord on New Year’s Eve.

Marion County authorities arrived on the scene to find a 65-year-old female tied up with an electrical cord and bound with duct tape in her home, according to a press released put out by the sheriff’s office.

The victim was able to free herself before calling 911 for help.

According to reports obtained by CBS Seattle, the victim told authorities that her sister, Shannon Dimitri, 61, came to her house for a New Year’s party. The sister states Dimitri became intoxicated and started a fight.

Officers said the victim had cuts on her hands from a knife and a bite mark on her forehead.

Oregon State troopers assisted as they spotted Dimitri’s car and took her into custody.

Dimitri was booked into the Marion County Jail on a handful of charges.
