Boeing Worker Trapped Under Jetliner Is Rescued

SEATTLE (CBS Seattle/AP) — A member of a Boeing ground crew was run over by a Japan Airlines plane while it was being towed at Paine Field Airport in Everett Friday.

Officials say emergency crews have rescued the worker who was temporarily trapped beneath the tires of a Boeing 787.

A helicopter transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of leg injuries. Harborview says the worker was in serious condition late Friday.

Larry Wilson of Boeing Commercial Airplanes says in a statement that Boeing will investigate and “will implement the necessary changes to avoid a future reoccurrence.” Beyond that, Wilson provided no details on the worker or the accident.
