The Northwest Yoga Conference is a two day event filled with yoga related activities. Attend two full days of yoga workshops which highlight the talent and diversity of local Northwest yoga teachers, students and more! Workshops will be offered that are appropriate for beginning and advanced yoga students and teachers to start or further explore their yoga practice. Free kids yoga on Sunday, February 19. Experience a day of good, clean fun and learn all about the wonderful world of soil and the role it plays in our lives! FREE admission for up to four children ages 3 to 12 with each adult or senior paying full admission. Special Kids ‘n’ Critters activities are free with admission all weekend and include nature-themed arts and crafts and trailside encounters with Northwest Trek’s smaller animals.

Learn the skills of modeling during a series of seminars on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Members of NorthWest Scale Modelers will share expert tips on building and painting plastic model aircraft, armor, automobiles and more. Children age 6 and up are invited to learn the art of modeling during free “Make & Take” model building workshops sponsored by Galaxy Hobby and The Skyway Model Shop. Experts from NorthWest Scale Modelers will be on hand from 10:00am to 2:00pm Saturday and Sunday to help children build a scale aircraft model to take home. Workshops are first-come, first-serve. Each child should have an adult helper.

On Saturday at 2:00pm, Bob Jacobsen will demonstrate the life-size working model of R2-D2 he designed and built from scratch. The fictional droid, who appears as a major character throughout all six Star Wars films, was a major hit with adults and children alike at last year’s model show.

There will be a live octopus release on Saturday, February 18 at noon. Watch live video feed as Seattle Aquarium biologists escort an octopus to a new home beneath the Aquarium pier.
