SEATTLE (AP) — The National Weather Service says a winter storm will move quickly through Washington Friday and Saturday with high surf on the coast, rain in Western Washington, snow in the Cascades and the northeast corner of the state.
Forecasters expect rainfall will total up to 2 inches on the coast and 1 inch in the interior lowlands.
With the snow level dropping to 2,000 feet, forecasters expect 8 to 18 inches of snow in the Cascades. Forecasters also expect significant snow in northeast Washington.
Ocean swells of up to 24 feet could pound the Washington coast Saturday, and forecasters say people planning to go clamming this weekend should watch for hazardous waves.
