The 68th annual housing extravaganza, America’s Biggest Open House™, will have over 500 home and garden displays, daily “Meet the Experts” seminars, New Products Pavilion area, Made in America feature and wine tasting presented by Lulu Boutique of Lake Chelan. Show exhibits will feature model kitchens and bath vignettes, the newest in building products and materials, landscape displays, living green, arts & crafts and home decorating ideas.

The second-annual family event is a celebration of local talent and the many youth and teen resources available in Kent. Interactive booths, Hands-on art activities, Sports competitions, Face painting, Bounce houses, Games, contests, raffles, and prizes including a Redline bicycle, $1 hot dogs and $1 soda and more.

The Children’s Museum, Seattle is hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic in partnership with the Pacific Northwest Child Life Specialists. Children ages 3 to 10 are encourages to bring their favorite lovable, huggable teddy bear or stuffed animal to the Museum for a check-up! The clinic will be staffed by Child Life Specialists, offering safe-to-handle medical play items such as tourniquets, band-aids, gloves and hats so that children can play and gain familiarity for their next medical check-up.

Thirty-five vendors will fill 200 sale tables featuring glass, jewelry and collectibles from early to mid-20th century, including depression, elegant, and 1950s, 1960s and 1970s glassware, pottery, china, and kitchenware. The entry fee is $3. Proceeds benefit local charities.

Cascade Bicycle Club’s Chilly Hilly

Chilly Hilly has been kicking off the cycling season in the Northwest for the past 39 years. The 33-mile route around Bainbridge Island starts with an early morning ferry ride across Puget Sound from Seattle or you can join the crowd directly on Bainbridge Island. Join in for the ride Bicycling Magazine named “One of Four Classic Rides” in the nation! Guaranteed to be hilly, chilly and a heck of a lot of fun.

Course is open from 8:00am – 3:00pm. If you are taking the ferry over from Seattle, the ride starts when you get off the ferry. If you are starting on Bainbridge Island, the ride starts at the top of the ferry off-ramp on Winslow Way. Register online.
