SEATTLE (AP) — The National Weather Service says Wednesday morning’s snow showers in parts of Western Washington are turning to rain.
But heavier snow is falling in the Cascades, and forecasters say nearly all of Eastern Washington will have accumulations Wednesday of 1 inch in the south to 5 inches in the north. A winter storm warning is in effect until noon for the Spokane area where about 2 inches are expected.
Forecasters expect the storm will add about 6 inches of snow in the Cascades with maybe 6 inches more over Mount Rainier.
The Weather Service says the chance of snow showers will remain in the forecast for Eastern Washington through the weekend while the precipitation will fall mostly as rain in Western Washington into next week.
