SEATTLE (AP) — The husband of a Lynnwood,Wash., woman found strangled in 2006 has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in her death.
King Countysheriff’s detectives arrested Martin David Pietz (peets) on Wednesday at his job. King County prosecutor’s spokesman Ian Goodhew said the arrest and charge are the result of a six-year investigation by cold case detectives and senior deputy prosecutors.
The body of 32-year-old Nicole Pietz was found in a wooded area of the south Seattle suburb of Burien in early February 2006, about a week after her husband reported her missing.
Pietz is being held on $1 million bail with arraignment set for April 4. He has previously denied any culpability in the death.
