Best of Cask Beer Fest in Seattle

The Washington Brewers Guild is hosting the 5th Annual Cask Beer Fest, showcasing some of the state’s many fresh, locally produced, and award-winning ales and lagers. More than 20,000 people each year attend these events, where they have an opportunity to interact with some of the brewers and owners from many of the state’s more than 150 small, craft breweries.

The next Cask Beer Fest is Saturday, March 31 from 12:00pm – 9:30pm at Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion. There will be two sessions, one from 12:00pm to 4:00pm and a second session from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Come see and taste! There will be over 70 one-of-a-kind handcrafted cask beers from Washington’s most innovative brewmasters. To stay true to the tradition of cask-conditioned beer the Festival requires brewers to naturally condition the beer in a firkin or other vessels without artificially introducing CO2. Poured by gravity, the result is smooth ale with a thick creamy head that brings out subtle, nuanced flavors.

Admission includes a commemorative tasting cup and up to 25 sample tastes. Designated driver admission is $5 and is available at the door only. You must be 21+ to attend, with a valid ID. Admission is $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Click HERE for online tickets or to find select ticket outlets.

Just to nitpick, the Washington Brewers Guild (not the WA Beer Commission) once again is running the Washington Cask Beer Festival. The Commission ran it for the last few years but it is now a Guild function again. Should not be any different to the naked eye, but them’s the facts. Also, “130+ breweries” is a bit of an understatement. We have about 160 breweries in WA right now. It is a dynamic number, but we exceeded the 150 mark a few months ago.

Kendall, Thanks so much for your remarks! Revisions have been made. Hope the event is a fantastically huge success!
