Seattle Opera Announces First Ever HD Simulcast
Seattle Opera is proud to announce their first-ever live HD simulcast as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of Seattle Center! This FREE event will bring thousands to KeyArena, to experience opening night of Madama Butterfly on Saturday, May 5.
Seattle Opera will have the performance of Madama Butterfly in McCaw Hall at the same time as the event. Seven cameras will be positioned around the stage. This live video feed will be projected on a huge 50′ x 80′ screen (with HD surround sound) in KeyArena, where 8,000 lucky attendees will watch for FREE.
You can reserve your free tickets starting Monday, April 9, at 9:00am. Seattle Opera subscribers and donors can reserve tickets starting Wednesday, April 4, at 9:00am. You’ll receive your tickets by email within a few weeks, and you can print them out at home.
All ticket holders will get priority seating between 6:00-6:30pm on Saturday, May 5. You may enter KeyArena through either the East or West doors. Starting at 6:30pm, any remaining seats will be available to customers who do not have tickets. Be sure to arrive before 6:30pm to get the best seats. All seats are general admission.
Once inside KeyArena, there will be plenty of activities to keep you busy, including video programming about Seattle Opera as well as lobby activities where you can learn more about opera. Plus all the usual KeyArena concessions will be available.
