Here’s your chance to help the homeless right here in Puget Sound. Get your family, friends, scout troop, or civic group together to do something worthwhile.
The Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church congregation is honored to host the homeless for the 4th time, and invites all to help serve their needs.
On Saturday, April 21, Tent City 4 (TC4) will move to Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church (WUUC) for 90 days.
WUUC minister Lois Van Leer says, “Hospitality and compassion are at the core of our religious tradition. It is a privilege for us to once again host Tent City 4 and its occupants. Of course our wish would be that the causes of homelessness be eradicated and that there would be no need for tent cities. But until that time comes, we will continue to open our church home to those who are homeless.”
WUUC invites you to share their generosity with TC4, and help ensure that the residents are served hot meals every evening. Helping with meals doesn’t take a huge amount of time–just a little effort and compassion. Groups of all kinds, such as church, book, or scout groups, can participate in this worthy endeavor. If you are interested, please contact the church for more information.
Another way to share your generosity with TC4 is to donate useful items. Their current needs list can be found HERE. TC4 also accepts the following:
· Sleeping bags
· Personal hygiene items
· Warm clothing
This is a wonderful chance to do something worthwhile for those who are less fortunate, in your very own neighborhood.
