Man Strips Naked At Portland Airport To Protest TSA Screenings

PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS Seattle) — A man was arrested after stripping down naked at the Portland International Airport to protest TSA pat-downs.

John E. Brennan, 49, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he disrobed going through a security screening, according to KVAL-TV. He felt the TSA screeners were “harassing him.”

“Mr. Brennan’s actions caused two screening lanes to be closed and while some passengers covered their eyes and their children’s eyes and moved away from the screening area, others stepped out of the screening lanes to look, laugh and take photos,” the Port of Portland police report stated, according to Oregon Live.

Brennan’s father told KATU-TV he was surprised by his son’s actions.

“This is quite a shock,” John Brennan told the station. “He hasn’t been under any stress that I know of. He’s never really under any stress. This is quite a surprise.”

Brennan was charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure. He was released on his own recognizance.
