After a major software crash on Opening Day at Safeco Field on April 13, the Mariners have offered an apology and a chance for those who attended to return to Safeco with free tickets to any Mariner game in April or May, 2012. The software malfunction affected concession stand operations, and Opening Night attendees were waiting in long lines to get their food and beverages.
Chuck Armstrong, President and COO of the Seattle Mariners, says on the Mariners’ website, “We always want our fans to have a positive experience with the Seattle Mariners and Safeco Field. What happened Friday night was unacceptable and I offer my sincere apology to all of the fans who suffered through the long lines and inconvenience. The guest experience on Opening Night was nowhere close to meeting our standards and we want to make it up to our fans.”
To compensate, those who attended should find an email from the Mariners in their inbox, telling them how to choose another game to attend. They will receive tickets in the same seating level that they had for Opening Night, and a voucher for $5 at the Safeco concession stands.
