Seattle’s Pintxo Hosts 2nd Annual Bacon Wrapped Date Eating Challenge
Pintxo, the trendy Tapas Bar in Belltown, is celebrating its second anniversary on Sunday, May 6. And to honor the occasion, Pintxo will offer free paella to the first fifty guests, food and drink specials and its Second Annual Bacon Wrapped Date eating challenge. There will also be Pintxo’s signature Sangria and other cocktail specials throughout the night.
Pintxo will open at 5:00pm on Sunday, May 6 and the first fifty guests will receive complementary Paella. At 6:00pm, Pintxo will hold the Second Annual Bacon Wrapped Date eating challenge. The challenge will consist of twelve contestants attempting to consume 50 bacon wrapped dates in 30 minutes. Contestants who successfully complete the challenge will win a one year supply of bacon wrapped dates, one order per day for a year (valued at over $1500).
“Our customers love the bacon wrapped dates and often say they could eat 50 of them,” said Cory Chigbrow, owner of Pintxo. “So, we wanted to find out if someone really could eat 50, which is about three pounds of bacon, cheese and dates.”
Contestants have until Tuesday, May 1 at 5:00pm to enter. Non-winning entries will be given a second chance to compete by paying $15 to enter. Contestants that complete the challenge will have their entry fee returned. To enter the contest, go to http://www.pintxoseattle.com or http://www.facebook.com/pintxoseattle for details.
