The Seattle Cheese Festival is an annual destination artisanal cheese festival for the general public and the foodservice industry to taste, celebrate and better understand artisanal cheese made locally and around the world.

The Pike Place Market, Seattle’s famous farmers market destination is the place for the event on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20. The festival will be held along the cobbled street between Pine and Virginia.

This is the 7th year of the festival, which includes two days of cheese sampling from local and international artisanal cheese producers, informative seminars and panel discussions on serving, suggesting and pairing artisanal cheese (by advance registration HERE). There will be cooking demonstrations from some of Seattle’s top chefs, including Leslie Mackie from Macrina Bakery and Mike Easton from Il Corvo Pasta.

Four times each day, you have an opportunity to get a ringside demonstration showing how easy it is to make fresh mozzarella from the experts at DeLaurenti Food & Wine. They even throw in a burrata demonstration. Burrata is fresh mozzarella with cream added in the center. It’s very difficult to make, but it is amazingly rich and silky.

The Cheese Festival Wine Garden is held from 12:00pm to 5:00pm both days. And pop into DeLaurenti Food & Wine shop for tastings and pairings of wine and cheese all weekend.

Plus, local Seattle restaurants offering a “Cheese Fest Best” cheese dish during Festival week! In advance of the festival, several local restaurants are celebrating the 7th annual Seattle Cheese Festival with a friendly grilled cheese contest.
