President Obama Visiting West Coast

RENO, Nev. (AP) — President Obama plans to visit Reno next week and discuss the economy.

The White House press office says the president will travel to Reno on Friday for an unspecified official event regarding the nation’s economy. It will be his third trip to Nevada this year, his first to Reno since April 2011.

Obama will travel to Reno from Los Angeles on Friday, after campaign events Thursday in Seattle and L.A. He’ll return Friday afternoon to Washington D.C. The White House released no other details.

Nevada is one of several battleground states considered up for grabs in the November presidential election.

Obama carried Nevada four years ago with 55 percent of the vote. He’s visited southern Nevada twice this year. The first lady spoke this week at a Las Vegas fundraiser.
