Spring is in the air, and it’s a great time to get out with your four-legged friend (or adopt a new one)! These family-friendly pet events include charity walks, Petpalooza, kitten adoptions and DockDogs fun!

Auburn’s Dog Trot 3K or 5K Fun Run

Dog Trot is a family-oriented, pet friendly fun run/walk event that takes place in conjunction with Petpalooza! Choose between the 3K or the 5K routes. The course is flat, easy and enjoyable for all ages and ability levels. Awards will be distributed to the top participant in six age groups. Child (8 and under); Tween (9-12 years); Teen (13-19); Adult I (20-35); Adult II (36-54) and Senior (55+). The FREE event will feature live entertainment that includes Roving Reptiles and Crème Tangerine and the K9 Kings High Flying Dog Show; a noon pet parade, pony rides, the Nutro Company’s ‘Unleashed’ Pet Contest, an agility area, demonstrations, over 150 vendors and much more. See the 2012 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Disc Dog Championships, the largest disc-dog series in the world. New to Petpalooza in 2012 is a petting zoo and lots of kids’ activities!

Does your dog like to run, jump, and swim for their favorite toy? Puget Sound DockDogs will be conducting a series of 1-hour training clinics for water loving dogs on Saturday, June 3 at the regulation dock and pool. Dogs must already love water play, should be a good swimmer, and love to chase their toy into the water. And on Sunday, June 4, dogs of all jumping and plopping skills will count toward winning the overall Northwest Club Challenge trophy and try to win bragging rights for another year.
