SEATTLE (AP) — A stretch of relatively warm, dry weather came to an end over the weekend, and forecasters say the cold front will deliver a significant amount of rain Monday in Western Washington.

The National Weather Service expects .50 to 1.25 inches on the coast and .25 to .75 inches in the interior lowlands. The snow level will drop to about 4,000 feet Tuesday and snow is possible on the higher mountain passes.

Rain also is forecast in Eastern Washington with a chance of thunderstorms.

Forecasters say cool, cloudy weather with a chance of showers will persist through Friday statewide.
