SEATTLE (AP) — Police say more than 50 tips from the public helped them track down a driver suspected in a hit-and-run accident that killed a bicycle rider last summer in Seattle.
The 28-year-old Normandy Park man, Erlin Garcia-Reyes, was booked into the King County Jail Wednesday for investigation of felony hit-and-run.
Bail was set at $500,000 at a Thursday afternoon court hearing. Prosecutors face a Monday deadline for a decision on charges.
The victim, 44-year-old Michael Wang, was a photographer who worked for PATH, the Seattle-based world health organization. He commuted by bike to his home in Shoreline.
Wang was struck July 28 by an SUV making a turn. It left the scene.
