BLACK DIAMOND, Wash. (AP) — King County, Wash., sheriff’s officers are involved in a search and rescue effort in the rugged Green River Gorge.
KING-TV reports that a man and a woman ended up in the Green River on Thursday evening. The station says the man was later rescued but the woman is still missing.
Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Konoske earlier told The Seattle Times that a rescue effort was under way involving a male hiker and that the whereabouts of a female hiker were not known.
Konoske said the two had been part of a group of hikers.
